As you will have noticed, our home is one of Germany’s prettiest cities. There are few places that are as charming and vibrant, and such a pleasure to live in.

I promise you that there are plenty of new, interesting and exciting things to discover in Erfurt. So why not take time out to explore, and get to know the city and its people. You won’t regret it!

Erfurt is steeped in history, and there are gems from the past to uncover at every turn in our amazing old town. Our Jewish heritage, for example, is extraordinary, and includes the Old Synagogue and the Mikveh ritual bath. We also have two wonderful churches on the cathedral hill, the mighty fortress of Petersberg Citadel in the heart of the city, and the remarkable Merchants’ Bridge. Children can have a lot of fun in Erfurt. Few other cities have as many brand new playgrounds as Erfurt. There are plenty of green spaces across the city and many beautiful parks, most notably egapark and the redesigned Geraaue. And with all the pretty blooms everywhere, it is no surprise that Erfurt is known as Germany’s ‘flower city’.

We are delighted that you are one of us now. If you have any questions or problems, the city council is on hand to assist you.
